Information You Submit
Names, phone numbers, and addresses entered into the search boxes are sent to the third-party provider that powers those results. Los Gatos Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those search submissions on its own servers. If you contact us, the message and any details in it are available to us so that we can respond.
Routine Technical Logs
Our hosting environment may record ordinary server information such as IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. We use aggregate information to maintain the site and understand which references are useful. Basic cookies or similar tools may support analytics or advertising measurement where those services are enabled.
How We Use Limited Data
We use the information described above to operate the pages, troubleshoot faults, measure general traffic, and improve the reference. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual user profiles from ordinary site visits.
External Records and Search Links
Pages link to Santa Clara County and California records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search services. Once a link is followed, the destination’s privacy terms govern what is submitted there. This includes the sponsored search results, which are supplied by another company.
Who Processes Technical Data
Hosting providers and other service vendors may process the server logs needed to support the pages. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. We disclose information when valid legal process requires it and otherwise limit disclosure to site operations.
Security and Retention
The site uses an encrypted connection, and technical logs are retained only for the operational purposes described in this policy. There are no reader accounts here, so the site does not hold a reader password or profile that can be exposed.
Visitors Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information to us, please contact us so we can remove it.
Your California Privacy Choices
California’s Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, is codified at Civil Code section 1798.100 and following. Depending on the circumstances, covered consumers may have rights to know, delete, correct, limit certain sensitive-information use, and opt out of sale or sharing. Because this reference keeps very little personal data, a request normally means searching the contact mailbox and relevant server logs and removing what is found. Use the Contact Us page to ask.
Public records held by California, Santa Clara County, or the Town of Los Gatos are outside our control. A request to correct or remove a government record must go to the office that keeps it. The California Privacy Protection Agency’s DROP program may provide a separate route for registered data brokers.
Changes to This Policy
If the policy changes, the new version will be posted here. Continuing to use the pages after an update indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
